finally.
i thought the whole borat being from kazakhstan was funny because one of the illest cyclists, alexander vinokurov, is also from there. many people favor vinokurov to win this year’s tour de france.
i don’t read a ton of cycling coverage anymore (mostly because the doping allegations depress me), so i’m not sure how many borat/vinokurov jokes were made prior to the tour. probably a lot of them. this, however, must be the best of all of them. and yes, borat is holding up vinokurov’s jersey.

ok. i’m totally w/ you on not watching tour coverage this year. it’s my own way to tell the “industry” that i’m pissed that they’re not operating as clean athletes. we didn’t get our annual 3 months of cable because i feel sickened by all the cheating…rrrrrr….
BUT, that picture is friggin hilarious. and i miss the colorful commentary by paul & phil (and bob). according to my friend dp, this exchange went down during this particular section: phil ligget said ‘paul, if i’m not mistaken, i do believe that’s borat at the side of the road’
and that’s what i miss most.
